If an engineer (software, hardware, etc.) is asked: how long will it take you to finish this job? I imagine most would make a mental estimate of the actual time they think it would take, then add 50% or double (triple?) that, and that's what they'd tell their boss/client. Same with cost estimates. (Proposed bills also, I would imagine...). Merry Christmas to all!
