limited. You can only send up to 3 times on the same number until chikka will require the reciever to reply back (with charge). However you can automate the registration of new user to to chikka that you can use again to send more text. Maybe if you round robin around 100000 chikka accounts automatically using a custom made gateway derrived from chix (see sourceforge) you can actually keep spamming all day :)
Somehow I suspect such a scheme would be against Chikka's ToS and they would block your IP eventually. :P A lot of people seem to need bulk SMS outbound service for their business requirements, but since it's so hard to talk to the telco directly, it's better to talk to a CP who is willing to do aggregation. Roger's outfit seems to be having some success doing this; my former employee Information Gateway also has a unified short code (2976) which they use for corporate projects, e.g. SM Advantage Card and M&M's among others. For a sufficiently large volume application (~thousands of messages per day at least) they would be worth talking to. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
