I'd like to thank all those who provided advice/suggestions regarding my problem in FOSS advocacy.
If anyone who has had a rice experience introducing FOSS to a big organization (and troubleshooting problems I referred to earlier, and also the OO wordprocessor, spreadsheet and presentation software -- all the gory details) is available anytimelater this week for a half a day, pref. in the afternoon, I'd like to invite you to give a talk, sit in a round-table, and then answer various questions. Kindly send me a private message. Regards to all, Obet PS. The questions about making a backup of a crashed system didn't come from me, but from the memo proposing the shift back. I think it was just not carefully formulated, but that I means the sys ad didn't quite know how to do a backup. (It happens often to me too... I know exactly what to do, but I don't know how to do it in Linux and can't find it fast enough, with people breathing down my back.). The sys ad probably just wants to do his job well and keep his users happy. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
