Ah, yes... There are the gotcha's that you only encounter when you
already have something definite or specific you want to accomplish. In
the context of your application, I would think that you would like an
event-driven approach to handling incoming data/requests as compared
to having a python process handle one Apache request.

It really boils down to how you intend to play with Twisted -- and
specifically what you want to do with it.

Normally, reading about them, many programs look good, but it
is usually
the small details that make a difference between a good program and a bad
one. And
normally, the little gotchas show up only after working with the software
for sometime.
I'd like to know if Twisted has any serious gotchas.


I'll ask my friend (Butch are you on the list still?) but what I'd
like to do in these situations is to try it out first on a small scale
-- benchmark/profile it, and determine if it meets the requirements or
exceeds expectations.

Granted that it's in Python, it shouldn't be too hard to try it out
first and then see it for your specific setup. You might be surprised
how simple it is to get working. :D
