i suggest you take a look at virtualization and dual booting. personally i
prefer the former over the latter because you can run more than one
operating system at the same time.

don't bother dual booting edubuntu and kubuntu. simply install kubuntu...
then just download/install edubuntu specific packages. they're basically the
same you see... only difference is that edubuntu is focused on
education/educational institutions. kubuntu uses kde as its window manager
over ubuntu's default gnome window manager.
