Actually, PM's statements are right, and is not a flamebait but the truth. A lot of people think Linux is Unix, but it's not.
Linux is a "Unix-like" Operating System, that is the right statement. See, the thing is that the word UNIX is a trademarked word by the "Open Group" Consortium and Novell also I think. You simply can't say that you are UNIX, you have pay some dough and add the certification process to it. AFAIK, no linux distro bothered to get certified to be officially called UNIX. Even Novell which also owns the UNIX trademark, did not bother to certify SuSE.
