You know, I have nothing against you personally and I'm not out to "get" you.
BUT I cannot stand someone hiding behind an assumed name on the internet calling me names. Especially when I feel it is not justified. I think I understand if you felt slighted by my "worrywart" comment. A worrywart is someone who worries too much -- in this case about Ian Murdock getting co-opted by Microsoft. BUT - and I guess the others on the list will agree - being called a "worrywart" is not the height of defamation. It was all meant in good spirit, as I assume everyone else immediately figured out. Your incoherent "txtspeak" private email was, in my opinion, not a proportional response. So my reaction was to forward your email to the list (my apologies to the list for the off-topic messages). Of course it doesn't do anything to you, since you hide behind an assumed email alias. But what would YOU do if someone you can't identify starts spewing bile at you? at least I put my name on my emails. You raised a good point -- if I'm so "great" at Linux, why am I not contributing to the list? instead I call people worrywarts. Aside, there are (and have been) a lot of people on PLUG whom I am proud to have worked or collaborated with -- among them Carlo Yu, William Yu, Migs Paraz, Brian Baquiran, Engels Antonio, Dek Mauleon, Dido Sevilla, Doc Mana (apologies if I forgot some of you) -- These are people who have founded their own companies, are CTO's / CIO's, etc. And one thing you'll notice is that those people hardly, if ever, post anymore. It's a loss to the community when the most experienced people no longer bother to post. And why is that? part of my theory is because it's no longer worth their time when you've got this kind of name-calling attitude on the lists (even if you did email me privately, it's still name-calling whether other people hear it or not).
