Hi Doc, does SL have something similar to CentOSPlus repos (http://wiki.centos.org/Repositories/CentOSPlus)? This has been handy for me when trying to run the newer web apps that require newer packages which RHEL won't support at all (which sucks and is a usual question from users).

The websites of CentOS, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Scientific Linux tell us that these distros are all derived from RHEL, and that their latest releases are derived from release 4.4 of RHEL. Personally, I believe that Scientific Linux has done the most patches to RHEL4.4 to get SL4.4. Also SL seems to be the most "open", specially when compared to OEL, from which updates are available only by paid subscription. CentOS seems okay, but SL people seem to work harder at improving RHEL4.4 than CentOS people. My 2 centavos worth. P~Manalastas
