I'm a newbie at debian/ubuntu and don't want to go there yet.
I tried 

  aptitude install build-essential sun-java5-jdk 

and that doesn't get sun-java5-jdk.

I'm now aware of fakeroot and jpkg, but I'd still rather know if
it's downloadable from somewhere first as .deb.  Anyone?
