For what its worth, I create the presentations to OOo and if I have to
present it on an XP unit, I just convert the ODP file to PDF so I
could retain the look from the original. The problem comes when I use
PNGs with transparent channels - the PDF doesn't recognize it most of
the time so I tend to avoid it.

So whenever I do presentations I make sure i have ODP, PPT and PDF
(sometimes even Star Office format for OOo 1.x compatibility) formats
of the same presentation.

Most of the issues I get from creating a presentation in OOo and then
edit in on MS Powerpoint and vise versa are related to fonts.
