CPG is doing a whole lot of work using Spring. Almost all of their
service engines are developed in Java and run under the Spring
framework. I would think Smart is a very good place to work at if
you're a Unix/Linux/open source kind of person.

Almost everything CPG does is Linux. And if not, Solaris or very
rarely AIX or HPUX.

Only here will you see a DB doing 40,000 SQL transactions per second. :)

As for Globe... well my understanding is their big projects are all
outsourced to people like Soluziona. Or for example G-Cash which
they've been bragging about is a turnkey solution from Utiba Mobility.

Nothing interesting there. If Globe actually has an open-source group
that actually has pull (e.g. does high-profile projects) that would be
a welcome development because it would mean companies can sell into
Globe directly rather than have to work through solutions integrators.

Well, Unix requirements doesnt always means opensource work like the ad I
got before -- looking for administrators for Unix/Oracle (i dont want to get

I must really have missed those job posts since i couldnt find them on them
on their Smart site's career links. As for Globe, I'll go down later and
ask the HR since our new office is at Globe Tower 2 anyway and maybe meet
some of GT's opensource pips on the way (Anyone on this list?)
