isnt there a system-wide command execution accounting package that tracks the command and processes on the system? if somebody can point the correct package then you could use that to help keep tabs on what is being done on your system. this should be better than just the history file especially if there are different users on the system. and that goes into saying: dont give root access to people who doesnt need it. and for those who do, there is always sudo. ;) ciao! -- "Programming, an artform that fights back" Anuerin G.
