I wrote a basic config mini howto on nagios before. It's at http://
melecio.org/node/79
The installation part is on openbsd but the config part is pretty
universal. Hope it helps you in anyway.

By the way, a litle update on the technical side of HALAL:
Based on our experiences with concerns about costs, we now think less
volunteers than we originally expected will be enthusiastic about
texting the
results to us, at their own expense. Our minimum cost estimate is
around P30
in all: P10 to download the list of candidates/report template, P10
for at
least 1 trial run, P10 for the actual report). We have added a bulk
report
facility (emailing an attached spreadsheet containing many results)
to the
system. And we have made electronic reports optional. As long as
the printed
report forms are filled in and submitted by the volunteers. Where no
electronic reports come in, we will do the data entry at the National
Secretariat. However we still expect as much volume for texts from
the public
to check the results in their precinct, which will only cost P2.50
(and
another P2.50 if they want to confirm the report they got).
This adjustment had the happy consequence of reducing the expected
spike 24-48
hrs after the elections, which had been our greatest worry. Public
inquiries
will be much more spread out and can be easily handled by our system.
The COMELEC has not yet approved (or disapproved) our petition for
accreditation. The convenors have decided to go ahead, with or without
accreditation. The delay however makes it harder to get volunteers.
We have also decided to publicly urge other pollwatching groups who
officially
receive ERs (like NAMFREL and the political parties) to make
available to the
public the electronic versions of their copies. This is the only
way the
public itself will be able to audit their tallies.
Regards to all,
Obet
PS. I hope PLUG will decide to sign the NoCHEATS covenant and send
a rep at
the Apr. 17 launching.

hi guys,
i'm trying to install nagios on our fedora 5 box, i installed it
including
the plugin from source using the quick configuration guide, however
i can't
get it to work. i did not encounter any errors during the install,
the only
portion where i received an error was during the -> # make install
webconf
and it dished out this error -> make: *** No rule to make target
`install-webconf'. Stop. i still proceeded with adding the service
and have
it started but when i tried to login http://ip.add.ress/nagios , i
got a
http 404 can ot be found error. did i miss anything?
TIA

I wonder if this is still true outside of the Phil?

i think you can purchase one of this within metro manila, the one we
ordered when i was still at DOLE.gov finally arrived after five
months and
i'm no longer with them... kidding aside, it was a sangoma card,
the company
is located somewhere in makati, you can look the name of the
reseller at the
sangoma website. there is also a digium reseller in q.c. i forgot
the name
of the company though.
