Hi All,

I am running on Kubuntu Edgy and bought a Canon Pixma iP1300 printer. As
usual, it doesn’t have a driver for Linux included in the CD so I browsed
the net for drivers. I found a driver but it is in rpm. I just found out
that rpm can be converted to deb package using a utility called alien. I’ll
try it out tomorrow and hoping it would work.

Just a side note, I hope hardware manufacturers would also include Linux
drivers. I mean, I already gave them business by buying their product, so
what’s keeping them from supporting the OS I have so I can use their product
without headache.

Cheers!
Gerald
