i got bayantel DSL at home too. i configured PPEoE dialing in the router (they provided a huawei CPE). It is easier that way, and all you need to configure on your PC is the DNS settings.

Dear All,

I've just installed Kubuntu and I need help in in configuring my internet
connection. I got Bayantel DSL (PPPOE).

dunno if this works with debian/kubuntu but this is what i use with my gentoo box:

make sure you have pppoe installed.
run pppoe-setup
enter your username and password when asked, then make sure you pass "server" when asked for dns
after which run: pppoe-start/pppoe-stop to test whether it works.

of course, i played with my net work config so that it'll bring pppoe up automatically upon boot... i think how they do it in kubuntu is different, but i'm uncertain.

hope i could at least point you in the right direction.

cheers.
