~/.gnome2

You can also delete ~/.gconf -- however, I suggest that you do the
following instead:

  $ mv ~/.gnome2 ~/.gnome2-broken
  $ mv ~/.gconf ~/.gconf-broken

Make sure you're doing this in a virtual console, while not using
GNOME. (You can probably do this with GNOME running though).
