Is it the same with Cisco? I tried and failed to get a display. No, the cisco style serial port is on the Netra and current system lines from SUN. The thing is, the 450 has a peculiar serial port. It's using a DB25 serial connector instead of the more popular DB9 connectors. If you can find a connector, great, but if not, then you have to make your own. The schematics are on: http://www.sunhelp.org/unix-serial-port-resources/serial-pinouts As for your original question about distro choice, OpenSolaris. :) Joking aside, I'm in favor of Ubuntu server for SPARC.
Thanks! Now my problem is where to get them old DB25 cables. Time to scour HMR! 'Jopoy
