I disagree! Isn't what we are doing right now a lot more tiring and time
consuming... being contrained by the usual interface. Taking away the
usual interface would mean that we could handle more with less movements
in lesser time.
Take for example with two windows open both with different folders
opened and what the user is going to do is copy some files from one
window to another. Considering that the files are not arranged and that
there are unneeded files in between.
Scenario 1 uses the normal interface, the mouse and keyboard:
1) press ctrl then click each file to highlight. ( this would take
like multiple clicks for each file selected)
2) press right click then click copy or press ctrl + c
3) click on the other window then press ctrl + v or press right
click then click on paste.
or
1) press ctrl then click each file to highlight. ( this would still
take like multiple clicks for each file selected)
2) drag and drop onto the other window
Scenario 2 uses the multitouch interface
1) each finger touches a file on the left window (this would take
care of multiple clicks as you already have the file onto each finger or
most of your fingers. And also since it is multitouch... another person
can give you a helping hand. you are not constrained to just 1 mouse or
1 keyboard)
2) drag files to other window,
