There was a thread some weeks ago about updating Linksys AP firmware. At the time I said that I was having no problems with my firmware and that I'd been using the Linksys 24/7 for the last 18 months.
Well last night I was copying some large files (4GB) from my wife's notebook to mine. And the copying would consistently fail -- both notebooks would get disconnected from the wireless network. I was using a 2.02.7 firmware (very, very old) on a v2.0 hardware, which is still Linux based (it's an old Linksys WRT54G). Anyway I upgraded it to the latest DD-WRT for v2.0 hardware, and so far so good! there are tons of new features too (which I'll never use...) http://orlygoingthirty.blogspot.com/2007/08/upgrading-linksys-router.html _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
