The YM Perl modules aren't updated that often.
Yahoo has been changing their messaging protocol from time to time to
confound the third-party clients like Gaim, Trillian, and even the
Perl modules. It's quite possible that the Perl modules are no longer
compatible with the YM protocol. I can remember a couple years ago I
would have to keep upgrading to the latest Gaim so that YM would
work....
But obviously meebo has got the problem cracked.
