You most probably don't have a video card installed and your onboard video's 
assigned 768MB of your RAM. You can go to your BIOS and change it there, but 
make sure you assign at least 64MB although 32MB's fine too.

If you have a video card and your onboard video's disabled, then you should 
enable high mem in the kernel. I'm not really sure how you go about this, but 
you may want to check the archives. I think there was a post before regarding 
enabling the himem module.
