11g comes with many noteworthy improvements, at least one of which was
pioneered in the Open Source world.

11g's "Query Cache" is exactly the same concept as MySQL's but taken
much further along. It's interesting to note that the notion of Query
Cache was originated in MySQL, and Oracle decided that is is a
worthwhile improvement and so implemented their own version.

That said, 11g's Query Cache is much more sophisticated and flexible
than MySQL's version, which is really very primitive and rudimentary.
