Subject: [plug] Intermittent Loss Network Connection

Hi List,

I am having problem with my server which served as
Mail and Proxy server. From time to time the server
will not be accessible from the network and was
verified by doing a ping to the box from other machine
in the network. I check the wire and including the
switch were it connect and found that those were OK,
in fact due to this problem, I rehabilitate all the
UTP cable connection to the switch and tagged it
accordingly to make sure that the problem was not due
to it. What is weird about the problem is that when
the server again disappear from the network, what I do
to restore connection is ping from the problematic
server to another machine within the network and again
the server IP will again are available. Will anybody
out there experience this, or give me clue or pointers
to what to look. I use CentOS4.5, Postfix, Squid and
DansGuardian as my server stack. Please help me on
this. Thanks in advance.
