I have an AMD64 X2 dual core CPU Before, the cpuinfo displays 2
processors but not until recently, I just found out that
/proc/cpuinfo recognizes this as single processor. Too bad I was not
able to backup the old kernel (I'm using gentoo genkernel in building
kernel.)

This problem exists in gentoo/ubuntu live cds - there were 2
processors recognized in /proc/cpuinfo. I also tried using the
configuration of the live cds pero I was not able to solve the
problem.

By the way, I have the following features enabled in my config ( I'm
using 2.6.22-gentoo-r8 custom kernel) :

Processor type and features
     [*] Symmetric multi-processing support
     [*] SMT (Hyperthreading) scheduler support
     [*] Multi-core scheduler support

Any thoughts?
