The answer is already in the MRTG logfile.

See how the MRTG logfile formatted at their website
(http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/mrtg-logfile.en.html)

The first line at 2nd and 3rd column is your answer.

At cron job after the next line calling every 5 minute the mrtg
program, write your own script to parse those 2nd and 3rd column.
