what kind of cloning do you need? do you want to *boot* from
the DVD or CD? or is it sufficient to just backup the drive
and you'll extract later?

not that i know what the solutions are for you (i've seen
mondo backup, and there are ghost-alikes for linux), but
i've not used them since none of my drives are small enough
to fit on a DVD and I don't enjoy making ten or twenty DVDs
to backup one HD. I just backup to an external USB drive
via rdiff-backup.
