There's your answer, SIS chipsets is not supported by compiz. You should at least have a nvidia or ati chipset (64MB min) in order to have the desktop effects. I'm using Mint at the office with nvidia inno 3d 64MB, compiz with emerald theme, cool.. :) -- http://jangestre.wordpress.com
