Take your pick: arping, nmap, or nbtscan. The last part is mainly for Windows
and Samba-enabled Linux machines.

Subject: [plug] ip to machine name

Hi,

Does anyone know how to probe a workstation's ip address to a machine name in
linux command line? Is there a tool for me to do this. I really want to know
who's the owner of a certain ip address inside our network.

Thanks in advance.

-Iris
