Hi,
I had connected a terminal server on my linux box via serial, so i can have
remote access in-case ethernet goes down. it worked but 2 days ago found i am
not getting the login prompt when i try to connect through it. it just hang out
in the air.
ps -ef shows:
root 11071 1 0 May 20 ttyS0 00:00:00 /sbin/agetty -h ttyS0 9600 vt100
i killed the process for this line earlier and it respawned back with the line
above. i still can't connect. I did /sbin/telinit q. no luck.
i don't want to reboot first as i'd like to try all possible fix. cable
connected to the serial is good as i changed it from the other serial that is
working. i also issued "clear line 10" on the cisco 2811 router where its
connected.
any ideas how to check and fix this?
