Here is an account (with photo) of the PLUG meetup at Robinsons Galleria on Friday, May 30, 2008:
http://blog.360.yahoo.com/prmanalastas?cq=1&p=247 Members of the Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) have been suggesting for some time that we meet, even only on a social basis, to talk and to socialize and to get to know each other, not necessarily to talk Linux. Michael Cole suggested that he will wait at Bo's Coffee on the ground floor of Robinsons Galleria at Ortigas Avenue late afternoon 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2008, and whether people come or not, he will be there, in case people want to come for a talk. This is how desperate PLUG members have become, and shows the priority (or lack thereof) that members give to PLUG affairs. People started to arrive at 6:00 PM. By 7:30 the following were already at the meeting (left to right in picture) Rommel Asibal, Michael Tinsay, Pablo Manalastas, David Asuncion Jr, and Michael Cole. The topics discussed were varied: computer use by our children, computer use in Government, Linux on our laptops, etc. Some people left at 7:30 PM (I was one of them), and Eric Pareja arrived after 7:30 PM. I have not seen Eric for a long time, and I missed the opportunity to meet him again. PLUG should have more meetings like this -- informal, but informative. Mabuhay (sana) ang PLUG! _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List http://lists.linux.org.ph/mailman/listinfo/plug Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
