Hi!

Naresolve ko na rin, yung only_from pala sa xinetd wala ang IP address ng
nagios server. I thought single value lang siya....

Salamat ulit sa mga tulong niyo sa Nagios...

  Subject: NRPE - remote host won't accept connection from monitoring server

  Hi!

  Salamat sa mga tulong niyo! Na-install ko na yung NRPE for both remote and
monitor servers.

  Pero di ko maintindihan kung papano magku connect ang monitoring server sa
remote server. These are the configuration:

  Remote Server
  /etc/xinet.d/nrpe --> only_from = <assigned IP address of the remote server>

  Monitoring Server
  /etc/xinet.d/nrpe --> only_from= <IP address of the monitoring server>

  When I run check_nrpe -H <hostname of monitoring server> from the monitoring
server, it works well. The same with the remote server - check_nrpe -H
<hostname of remote server> - successful din. I telnet the port 5666, it
connects fine pero the daemon disconnects the request.

  Pero based on the Nagios console, yung status - Connection refused by host.
But if I run the command - check_nrpe -H <hostname of the remote server> from
the monitoring server, yung error - could not complete SSL handshake. I know on
the nrpe.pdf, it says that I should run xinetd.d under localhost, but I am
confused how the monitoring server can connect to the remote server if the
latter is running on the loopback address.

  I am checking the net, and apparently the xinetd should be running on
assigned IP of the remote server, which I did. Pero what's refusing the
connectoin request from the monitoring server?

  Thanks.
