Yup check your web server logs.  It may be that the password is accepted,
but a different error is being encountered while trying to display the
resulting page.  Check also - you said _some_ of your users are encountering
the problem - what is different in the setup (browser, network connection,
etc) of those having problems vs those not encountering any difficulties?
