does it fail from time to time or does it mean you've never connected at
all. try configuring a linux box as the router.
in our office, after the typhoon ("frank"), we've gotten cut off around once
a week. then we have to use "adsl-setup" to restart the connection.
"adsl-start" won't work at times.
