Aneurin: Try to get the source code of the mac80211 version of the realtek-8187
driver from sourceforge: http://rtl-wifi.sourceforge.net/wiki/Mac80211. On my
Neo Empriva 540SVB, only this source code compiles cleanly and works under
Debian (but not under Fedora). I think this might work under Ubuntu, which is,
after all, a Debian derivative. Good luck.
