If you're open minded on changing languages, I suggest that you take a look at
twisted-python.

hei all!

has anybody done perl socket programming in a production environment? i'm
planning to continue my long-abandoned, perl-based filtering mechanism, which
was originally for filtering YM messages. i was able to use it for quite some
time. any significant comparison for those who have also done socket
programming in other languages, like C/C++?
