Unfortunately, there's a ring of truth to this one. Linux servers ARE more widely exploited than IIS. This is due to the openness of the system and the community attitude of disclosing vulnerabilities leading to an abundance of exploits. It doesn't mean that IIS is more secure, it's just a bit harder to dig out out the holes. Also, there is less disclosure because if a hacker does find a way in, he won't release the exploit publicly but instead sell it to criminal groups which then use it for targeted attacks.
