If you all got bored with the CTF format, try the "DTF" (defend) format wherein the vm images are already compromised and, are running both legit and malicious services (botnet). Players have to fix/defend the enterpise network (includes web, mail, file, etc. servers and desktop clients) while maintaining the uptime. Scores are tracked by Nagios (via active service polling) while the attacks are automated and controlled by the botmaster(s).
This format enhances both sys admin and security skills, albeit requires an high-end machine to run various images.
