03Dec2008 (UTC +8) Any NVIDIA CUDA coders here? Can't make my mind to go look for a GeForce 8000 series with 1GB DDR3 but with CUDA v1.1 only, or go for the more expensive GeForce 9000 series but with CUDA 2. GeForce's cost and avilability is a factor here.
Only difference I think between the two CUDA versions, other than later hardware support, is that CUDA offers slightly better array memcpy performance. My quad-core Intel CPU is running out of steam. Was thinking of simply re-compiling stuff meant for gcc, with NVIDIA's nvcc. Has anybody here found out if it's really straightforward?
