In the lab we use:

- Intel Desktop Board DG35EC
- Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66 GHZ with Virtualization Technology (VT).
- 2GB RAM (but Mobo can support up to 8GB)

KVM uses VT to improve support of VMs. In our tests, the server can
effectively handle 3 guest Linux OS (with GUI) compiling the kernel (using
default kernel config it took 30 mins). We have also tested a guest Linux OS
(Ubuntu) serving 3 remote X Desktop to thin clients running desktop
applications such as Gimp and Scribus (but working with medium resolution
graphics).
