The Asus EEE PC is may be available for PHP18,000.00 depending on memory size and SSD capacity.
The MSI Wind may also be available for PHP18,000.00 depending on memory size and SATA disk capacity. Both machines have been successfully reinstalled with Ubuntu, even if originally they might not be pre-installed with it: http://www.ubuntu-eee.com/wiki/index.php5?title=Main_Page http://wiki.msiwind.net/index.php/Ubuntu_8.04_Hardy_Heron There is a bit of work involved to get Ubuntu to run on either, but everyone knows that happiness comes only after hardwork. He he he. Seriously though, I suggest that you pay a bit more and get a Netbook with 2GB ram and at least 160GB SATA disk. The 512MB ram and 20GB SSD disk on the Asus EEE PC might be too little for any serious work with a Netbook. You buy a Netbook for PORTABLE power, so that you do not have to get hemorrhoids lugging a 2Kg laptop with you, but you get Linux on the Netbook so that you can bring your work with you. If all you do is word processing, then the low-end Netbooks (512MB ram and 20GB SSD disk) will be sufficient. My PHP0.02 worth!
