usb_modeswitch doesn't seem to work properly on my Globe Visibility's ZTE
MF626. Kernel 2.6.26 in Ubuntu 8.04 doesn't have the required ZTE drivers. I
booted the 2.6.28 kernel of Jaunty (9.04? Alpha) into Hardy, and HAL/UDEV just
loops as usb_modeswitch couldn't seem to "switch" the device properly.
I will try to insert the shtick before powering up the laptop.

ZTE's MF627 is long tested working in linux with 2.6.2x kernel
Required to use usb_modeswitch to convert it back to modem mode (from initially
CD Installer Mode) or you can just insert it before you boot Linux (ubuntu,
opensuse, fedora) etc..
Currently NetworkManager is not yet stable using these device (it works for me
sometimes), you can use either wvdial or utmsmon to connect

I don't know if this is helpful but I would like to share my
experience using Globe Visibility usb modem Huawei E220.
It will work in Ubuntu 8.10 but you have to use it first in windows.
That is, the sim card will be activated first in windows.
