This is default behavior for any Unix/Linux/BSD with X. Such OS is multi-user, networking, and with networking X-window. A big enough computer C can be designated as the compute server where all computations can be done. Several computers D1, D2, D3,... , D10 can be the display servers.
Each computer Dj connects to C via rlogin or ssh. While connected, Dj will set its DISPLAY environment variable so that C shows its X display on Dj. Then on Dj, give the xhost command to authorize C to use Dj as X-display. Others in the list can correct me, but that is basically all that needs to be done.
