the idea above was my proposal when i was still at the ISP arena to have a low cost high capacity storage for non heavy i/o storage (eg. archive logs and others).. terabytes of storages costs you millions of pesos while that technique will cost you only around a couple of hundred thousands and it scales as more storage you need.. scsi disk is more expensive than ide disk... thus a scsi-to-ide converter needed for this low cost high storage solution... raid 1 or mirroring (hardware or software based) for storage reliability... im not sure there in the philippines but you can ask your vendors if they can provided it for you... here in singapore... 1 terabyte of ide disk is only 6k pesos... fooler. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List http://lists.linux.org.ph/mailman/listinfo/plug Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
