Interesting. I see it from a different point of view - embedded
devices on the edge of the network (like phones and set-top boxes),
with services deployed in a hosting center or on app hosting service.
Or in marketing-speak, cloud computing.

The state of being embedded is different from the architecture, even
if ARM is dominant. It's more of - how design/develop/deploy on
systems that are not your regular desktop/laptop PC, with resource
constraints.

One problem: no local availability of embedded development or even
"hobbyist" boards.
