Increasing the swap file to more than 2 Gb will not do you any good. It
can even decrease performance. The purpose of the swap file is to extend
memory storage. It is helpful when it is small but when it gets bigger its
just like you are reading the data for the first time from the hard drive.

Think of the swap as a stock room. It is easier to access things inside it
because it is small. But if you increase its size (like a warehouse) you
lose your advantage. It would almost take the same amount of time to get
the data from it. It is just like you are getting the data from the
warehouse.
