Some background...

We use an application that runs on LAMP. It can be installed with a one
Linux CD Installer based on Fedora Core 3.

I learned that the kernel that comes with it is pretty much sluggish. I was
able to find relatively "newer" kernels and it worked perfectly in the
installed system.

Now, I would want that new kernel to replace the existing kernel in the CD
installer.

The Linux CD installer contains the following folders: extras, Fedora,
images, and isolinux... and the 4 other files namely autorun, ks.cfg,
pkgfile, and TRANSBL.

Can I just copy the said folders and files to my desktop and then replace
the kernel in the Fedora --> rpms folder and then create a bootable Linux CD
iso out of it?

If yes, how do I create a bootable Linux CD iso out of those files?

If no, what should I do to accomplish my task?

Honestly, I have no idea if the above task will work so kindly let me know
how to do it. :)

Thank you!
