Facebook throws you a 500 if the output of your php script is not valid fbml or not HTTP 200 (e: 404, 403, and likes). also its possible you have a script error so without access to apache logs change your php error handler to something you have access (db or your user folder) to easily troubleshoot it, see http://www.php.net/set_error_handler
