hi,

rule of the game, no matter what technology you use, the higher the
bandwidth and the lower the latency the better...

assuming you have asymmetric dsl (ADSL) of 4mbps downstream and 2mbps
upstream... it will outperform a 1.544 mbps T1 symmetric line for
*point-to-point* only..

at the end of that point (telco's point).. it is a question if your
subscribed bandwith is a shared bandwidth or not... normally telcos
give you a cheaper price because your bandwidth is a shared bandwidth
to other subscribers... that applies to T1 too... if you want a
dedicated bandwidth that what you subscribed going to the internet,
then the price is pretty much higher...

latency is another factor, even if you have a high bandwidth but have
a high latency, it will outperform by a low bandwidth with a low
latency...

for example a satellite link of 1mbps with 2 seconds latency to reach
its end point versus a symmetric dsl (sDSL) of 512kbps with half a
second latency... sending a 1 mbits of data... for satellite link.. it
took 3 seconds to complete while for sDSL.. it took only 2.5
seconds...

assuming the above example you have a good link quality (zero packet
loss)... as packet loss is another factor as its affect your
throughput due to retransmission...

because only bayantel and globe in your area.. another factor to
consider is their number of local and international peering links they
have.. you ask them if my network segment is advertise to only one
link or to multiple links?

as this is a web hosting service.. you need to advertise to multiple
links so that those web client audience go to the shortest routing
path going to your server for better response time...

fooler.
