First, if you don't have the 64-bit Lucid installed you won't be able to run 64-bit guests.
Second, Xen support in Ubuntu is waning. Canonical (and I think Debian in general) is focusing more on KVM, so try it out first. Third, Maverick Meerkat (v10.10) is due to be released in a few days (10/10/10 stateside, 10/11/10 dito sa pinas). You may want to wait for it as it would have the latest versions of the kernel and KVM hypervisor and management tools. --- mike t. > >From: [C]hicken [G] od <[email protected]> >To: Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Technical Discussion List ><[email protected]> >Sent: Wednesday, October 6, 2010 1:30:18 >Subject: [plug] Xen for home use > >Currently, I am still trying to get myself comfortable with Lucid Lynx but I >seem to be getting more and more comfortable with it's use and would like to >take a crack at running Xen so that I can run Windows XP 64bit on a desktop >computer. > >At present, I am trying to find out if this kind of setup is viable for what I >want to implement: > >Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 Ghz >2GBx2 PC2-6400 DDR2-SDRAM UDIMMl > >I am not sure if that is enough information but I would appreciate opinions >and >responses from the list. > >-- >[C] hicken [G] od >-=>Hi Tek, Lo Life<=- >http://planet-zero.blogspot.com >
