First, if you don't have the 64-bit Lucid installed you won't be able to run 
64-bit guests.

Second, Xen support in Ubuntu is waning.  Canonical (and I think Debian in 
general) is focusing more on KVM, so try it out first.

Third, Maverick Meerkat (v10.10) is due to be released in a few days (10/10/10 
stateside, 10/11/10 dito sa pinas).  You may want to wait for it as it would 
have the latest versions of the kernel and KVM hypervisor and management tools.
