Is there something I should be watching out for to determing if the module
is being loaded or not?

Part of what I noticed from System Log viewer is when I try to turn on the
wifi from off state to on state, I get this:

Oct 15 18:21:35 MEERKAT kernel: [   98.030561] eeepc_wmi: Unknown key 88
pressed

I know there should be more information than this but i think posting the
whole log (10++MB) would be daunting.
